Clean cooking practices become the preferred and chosen option in Tanzania.
Our Mission
To foster enabling policy, market and technological environment through supporting stakeholders in particular men and women members to innovate, design, produce, market, distribute clean cooking solutions targeting increased availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability to households, enterprises and institutions in Tanzania.
TACCS aspirations
Stakeholders (producers and users) of clean cooking solutions are empowered to produce and use high-efficiency technologies and fuels (tiers (3,4 and 5) from lower efficient ones (tiers 0,1 and 2).
Technologies and fuels coordinated and supported by TACCS
Cooking gas (LPG, Natural gas, and Biogas); Biomass (improved charcoal and firewood stoves, briquettes); bioethanol; hydrogen, and electrical stoves (EPS, induction etc).
Objectives of TACCS
Objective 1
Unifying and Coordinating
To unify and coordinate cooking stakeholders to participate and benefit from opportunities of clean cooking for economic and social wellbeing of men and women through close partnership and collaboration with relevant authorities, agencies, financiers and organizations.
Objective 2
Creating Conducive Environment
To facilitate conducive environment by influencing relevant policies, regulations, fiscal and administrative frameworks for stakeholders to produce, market, and supply clean cooking products and services.
Objective 3
Awareness Creation
To create awareness on the importance of adoption of clean cooking solutions as a measures to address issues of unpaid care work, health, environment and poverty, at national, sub-national and grassroots levels
Objective 4
Capacity Building
To build capacity of stakeholders’ in adoption of standards and technical specifications necessary for clean cooking solutions.
Objective 5
Availability of up-to-date data
To enhance accessibility, availability, reliability and most current gender sensitive information for clean cooking solutions in Tanzania.
Objective 6
Institutional Strengthening
To strengthen TACCS institutional frameworks and operations across international, national, and local platforms, with a particular emphasis on engagement and empowerment of women as key actors.
